Eight years in, I feel both proud and humbled. When I started Family Choice Surrogacy, I wanted an agency that treated every match like the only one on our desk. Today, that standard still guides every decision. I have learned that small and intentional can be powerful. Depth over volume builds trust, protects families, and sustains a team.
Eight years means people. Our surrogates, intended parents, and collaborative professionals have shaped this agency with their courage and honesty. How It All Started
Family Choice Surrogacy was founded to create a surrogacy experience rooted in respect, transparency, and connection. In the beginning, the goal wasn’t to become the biggest agency, it was to become the right one for those who value care over speed, and authenticity over formality.
Like any new venture, there were early challenges and lessons, learning how to support families navigating emotional spaces, building trust with clinics, and adapting to each unique journey. But what stayed constant was the heart behind the work.
I started Family Choice after my own difficult path to parenthood. I wanted to help others who were struggling to build their family.
Some initial challenges, in the first years, I was documenting as I went. Intake, clinical record review, matching criteria, red flag thresholds, communication cadence, and what “ready for meds” truly means. Writing it down forced clarity and consistency. Creating core processes and standard operating procedures has truly been a game changer to elevate the service we provide.
The Heart of Our Work, and Our Agency
Surrogacy is built on human generosity, courage, and trust. Our agency has always understood that each journey is about much more than timelines or paperwork, it’s about relationships.

There are so many impactful memories. I always say the highs are very high and the lows are very low. It sounds simple, but meeting a newly completed family or even a simple picture from the families and surrogates we help means so much to me and will always be a “favorite” of mine.
The Growth We’re Celebrating
While we remain committed to staying personal and relationship-focused, we are grateful for how much we’ve grown and strengthened over these eight years. Growth for us has looked like:
- Built a structured education platform. We launched and refined Foundations of Surrogacy, a 10-module program that standardizes screening expectations, informed consent, and journey readiness for both surrogates and parents.
- Scaled support with a Mentor Program. Experienced GCs now guide first-time carriers and newly matched parents through milestones, improving confidence, transparency, and follow-through at each step.
- Upgraded operations for consistency. SOPs, checklists, and training tied to the education and mentor programs created faster decision paths, and better support for those we serve.
What We’ve Learned Along the Way
Each journey teaches us something new. Over the years, a few lessons have remained consistent:
- Every family-building story is unique, there is no single “right” way to become a parent.
- Emotional support is just as important as medical coordination.
- Communication, flexibility, and empathy make all the difference.
